If you're like me, that is, if you live in the United States and are also batshit crazy for zombie films, then you need to know that Shaun of the Dead opens in U.S. theaters today.

Go see it. If you don't know why you should see it, find my awkward review somewhere in the recent archives of this site, or don't, but I'm just telling you: See it.

It's not a parody, or a spoof. It's an extremely well-written, well-acted horror movie that takes place in the Romero zombie universe (by the filmmakers' own admission) but also happens to be funnier than a bunch of monkeys high on angeldust fighting each other with switchblades. It's incredibly funny. And bloody. And good.

To be honest, I really can't say enough good things about this flick. It's pure dead brilliant. Michele agrees.
